Mrs. Gloria R. Davenport passed away on Jan. 16, 2019, at Merit Health River Region. She was born March 14, 1926, to the late Charles H. Robinson Sr., and Emma Banks in Vicksburg.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of King David #1 Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henry Robinson Sr., and Emma Banks; sons, Vernie Leroy Davenport Jr., and Charles Henry Davenport; four brothers, four sisters, two adopted sons and a foster son.

Survivors include her sister, June Griffin of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren, Gloria (Michael) Wilson of Rowlett, Texas, Shivani Latifah Rabb of New York City, and Charles A. Davenport of Spring, Texas; three great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, her adopted family, the Gordon Family; foster son, Charles Ailes, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at King David #1 Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. A. L. Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019, at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m., with family present from 6-7 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
