Alice Wolverton Holley

Alice Wolverton Holley went to be with her Lord on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at the age of 94 following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Sebastapol, where she graduated from high school as salutatorian of her class. She had been a resident of Clinton, since 1954. Mrs. Holley served as the Clinton PD’s first school crossing guard and was honored for her years of service. She was past president of Clinton Pilot Club and a member of BPW. She worked a number of years as a real estate agent with Crisler Brothers and Century 21 in Clinton. Mrs. Holley was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, L.C. and Polly Wolverton; her loving husband, W. L. Holley; her son, Paul Holley; one daughter, Donnah DeCambra and her sister, Beatrice Alford.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty White of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Rose Mary Bagby of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery on Clinton Blvd. in Jackson, on Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. The services were delivered by pastor Dr. Gloria Matory and Ms. Tiffany Brister, her special friend.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Wheat and staff, Kindred Home Care and staff, her devoted caregiver, Mrs. Vivian Cheatham, as well as her special friends at 4c’s Senior Program.
