Lumber truck overturns, loses load

A log truck overturned in the 4400 block of Tucker Road Friday afternoon, losing its load and blocking traffic for more than an hour.

The wreck occurred about 1:20 p.m.

According to Warren County Sheriff’s Office reports, Joseph Winters, 23, of Yazoo City, was driving the truck owned by SWS Veneer and Timber of Jackson Tennessee, when he went into a curve and the load shifted, causing the truck to overturn and lose the load.

Winters was taken to Merit Health River Region, where he was treated for minor injuries in the hospital emergency room and released. He received a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. The wreck remains under investigation.
