VSO registration
The deadline to register for the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s spring season has been extended until Feb. 3. The league has four divisions for players ages 4-16. The fees are $60 for the U4-U6 division, $80 for U8, $85 for U10, and $90 for U12 and above. There is also a $33 fee for uniforms.

Online registration is available at vsosoccer.org. Parents can also register their children by calling 601-529-7885 or 601-630-5552.

Practices begin the week of Feb. 11, and the season runs through mid-April.

VWAA registration
Registration for the Vicksburg Warren Athletic Association’s 2019 spring baseball season will continue until Jan. 31.

The league is open to children ages 4-15. The registration fee is $70 per player. There is a $10 discount for each additional child.

VGSA registration, camp
Registration is open until Feb. 9 for the Vicksburg Girls Softball Association’s 2019 spring season.

The registration fee is $60 per player, or $50 for families with more than two players. The league will include five age divisions for players ages 4-16. Registration forms are available at 601 Sports.

There will be a coaches and umpires meeting on Feb. 18. Practices begin on Feb. 23 and the season on March 23.

The VGSA will also host its Fun-Day Softball Camp for players in the 6U to 16U age divisions on Feb. 2 at Halls Ferry Park.

The cost is $10 per player and includes lunch and instruction in hitting, fielding, throwing and baserunning. Check-in and registration for the camp will begin at 8:30 a.m. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m.

RCB scholarships
Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 Red Carpet Bowl scholarships. The $750 scholarship is open to graduating seniors at Warren Central, Vicksburg High, Porter’s Chapel Academy and St. Aloysius, and forms are available from guidance counselors at all four schools.

Students should mail the forms; a list of all extracurricular activities; an unofficial transcript; and a 500-word essay on why the scholarship is important to them to: Dr. Robert M. Abraham, 3038 Indiana Ave., Vicksburg, MS 39180.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 28, 2019.

Alcorn alumni weekend
Alcorn State University will host a basketball alumni weekend Feb. 8-9 in Lorman. The weekend includes a reception for former men’s and women’s basketball players and an alumni game before the Lady Braves and Braves play Jackson State on Feb. 9. Former student-athletes and coaches can register by emailing jadamsginyard@alcorn.edu.
