An investigation by Vicksburg police into a drive-by shooting earlier in the week led to the discovery of a marijuana lab in a house at 1840 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and the arrest of two men on drug charges.
Ernest J. Jones, 63, the homeowner, and Damond Rashad Bryant Jr., 25, were arrested Friday about 10:40 a.m. after police discovered the marijuana lab in the home.
Both face charges of manufacture of marijuana.
They are being held without bail in the Issaquena County Corrections Center pending an initial appearance Monday in Municipal Court.
Lt. Johnnie Edwards said officers went to the home while investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred Wednesday. When Jones opened the door, the officers discovered the marijuana in plain view on a table.
After leaving, the officers obtained a search warrant for the house and uncovered the marijuana lab inside two rooms of the house and arrested the men.
