Pair wanted in drive-by shooting arrested

Two men wanted in a Wednesday drive-by shooting on Enchanted Drive have been arrested, Vicksburg police Lt. Johnnie Edwards said.

He said Nicholas Murray, 18, 195 Lake Dockery Drive Byram, and Latrell Ward, 19, 902 Blossom Lane Vicksburg, were seen by a Warren County sheriff’s deputy about 8:57 p.m. Friday driving in the area of Mississippi 27. They were taken into custody without incident and turned over to police.

They each face charges of shooting into an occupied dwelling and drive-by shooting.

Murray and Ward were processed and taken to the Issaquenna County Correctional Center, where they are being held without bail pending an initial appearance Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court .

The pair are accused of firing into a house in the 100 block of Enchanted Drive about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

The homeowner told officers he and the other two adults in the home were awakened by gunshots and one shot went inside the home.
