A Vicksburg man will serve five years in prison after pleading guilty in 9th District Circuit Court Feb. 7 to robbery and two counts of possession of a controlled substance-cocaine.
Circuit Judge M. James Chaney sentenced Romelo Walker, 21, 1310 Bowmar Ave., to 15 years in prison with 10 years suspended and five to serve, and placed him on five years’ post-release supervision.
He also sentenced Walker to a total of six years on the drug charges — three years on each charge. The drug sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time, with the robbery charge. Walker was also ordered to receive long-term drug and alcohol treatment while in prison.
Walker was arrested Jan. 8, 2018, in connection with an Oct. 25 robbery. The drug charge was filed after cocaine was found on him after his arrest on the robbery charge.
