Smith is accused of shooting the man and wounding him in the shoulder as he sat in his 1999 Toyota Camry with three other people in the 200 block of Meadowvale Drive. The other people in the car were not wounded.

Police said bullets fired at the car also struck a nearby house, adding the residents in the home reported finding the bullet holes later in the day.

In another case, Amanda Paige Nowell, 29, 960 Grange Hall Road, and Judah Manesseh Gutierrez, 19, 230 Rocky Lane, were indicted on two counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of shooting at a motor vehicle and drive-by shooting.

The indictments are the result of an incident that occurred July 29 and resulted from a fight at a July 28 party on Bovina Cutoff Road.

According to sheriff’s department reports, Nowell and Gutierrez, who had been at the party and were leaving, passed a pickup, which contained two teenagers. Thinking the truck contained people who had been in the fight, Nowell turned her car around and caught up with the truck, and Gutierrez fired five shots at the pickup.

The two teens were not injured. The couple turned themselves into authorities at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

According to sheriff’s department reports, deputies received a call about 1 p.m. on Dec. 21 that a man had been shot inside his home and the victim was able to positively identify the suspects.
