Thelma Jean Sumler

Funeral services for Thelma Jean Sumler are to be held on Sunday, Feb. 17, the in Greater Mount Olive M.B. Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Harris officiating; interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the funeral home from 6-7 p.m.

Thelma Jean Sumler passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, in Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 74.

She was retired from Cooper Lighting and was a member of Greater Mount Olive M.B. Church, where she also served in the choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Louise Giles Blake Sr.; her brother, Chester Blake and sisters, Viola Cooper and Flosie Jones.

She is survived he her son, Randy Blake of Vicksburg; her brothers, Willie Blake Jr., of Moss Point, and A J Blake of Weaver, Alabama; her sister, Dorothy Mae McRunnels of Vicksburg; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
