Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Steven Hand of Greenwood announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Louise Hand, to Robert William Arledge, son of Ms. Mary Gardner Arledge of Vicksburg and Mr. Robert Charles Arledge of Hattiesburg.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Ms. Etolia C. Hunt of Brandon, the late Billy Wayne Hunt of Ackerman and Mr. and Mrs. Jogene S. Hand, Sr. of Canton. The prospective bride-groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bernard Gardner of New Orleans, the late Mr. Robert Charles Arledge of Vicksburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter William Ledbetter of Vicksburg.

Miss Hand is a 2013 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. She attended Hinds Community College where she was an active member of Hinds Connection and the Hinds Community College Cheer Squad. She received a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in finance from Millsaps College in 2017. While at Millsaps, Miss Hand was an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Miss Hand is currently employed with Vertex Aerospace in Madison as a travel accountant.

Arledge is a 2012 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He is a 2016 graduate of Millsaps College with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is currently attending Mississippi College School of Law where he will graduate with the degree of Juris Doctor in May.

The couple will exchange vows March 9, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson.
