If convicted on all charges, Blount could spend up to 54 years in prison, Attorney General Jim Hood said.

The 11-count indictment accuses Blount of knowingly giving false information to an insurance company and other unspecified people when he said 10 people wanted to change their policies and then used their Social Security numbers to make the unwanted changes.

According to the indictment, Blount received more than $500 in commission as a result.

He is charged in the indictment with one count of false pretense, three counts of insurance fraud, four counts of fraud and three counts of wire fraud.

The case was investigated by Jerry Spell and will be prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Steven Waldrup, both with the AG’s Insurance Integrity Enforcement Bureau.
