Deborah Leist Stewart passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019. She was 60 years old.

Deborah was a member of Triumph Church. She loved animals and nature. She enjoyed all types of gardening, loved all water activities, was always smiling and a positive person. She retired from Waterways Experiment Station after 30 years of service. She was a loving friend to all she encountered.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas Leist; daughter, April Chontelle Nichols; parents, Sidney and Edna Leist; brother, Sidney Joseph Leist Jr.; grandchildren, Landon Joseph Nichols, Keegan Russell Leist, Piper Elizabeth Leist and Sydni Nikol Boone; great-grandchild, Tatum James Martin; and loving friend, Mike Stewart.

Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. with services in the chapel at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Fields officiating.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Edwards, Billy Leist, Steve Leist, Cullen Stewart, Del Irwin, and Charles Junior Leist. Honorary pallbearers will be Susan Sippel, Gary Dill and Nolan Farris.
