The PREPS value-added analysis began in June 1997 and allows for valid comparisons of education performance on the prior year’s state testing while taking into account the impact of differences in the socioeconomic background of the students considered in the research. The model is used in the PREPS program to identify high performing schools among Mississippi’s public school districts that are members of the PREPS consortium.

Bovina, Bowmar and Redwood each earned the PREPS award in both ELA and math.
