Charles Norman Haley

Charles Norman Haley died Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was 80. 

Mr. Haley was born in Brookhaven to the late Charles Julian Haley and Lena Mae Herrington Haley. He had been a resident of Vicksburg since childhood. He was a 1957 graduate of St. Aloysius High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 2014 from the City of Vicksburg Street Department. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Mississippi Cattleman’s Association. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Haley was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Smythe.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Haley; two daughters, Debra Mixon (Greg) of Clinton, and Angela Prewitt (Mark) of Madison; three grandchildren, Christina Vines (Kurt), Trey Griffin, and Haley Mays (Aubrey); and three great-grandchildren, Breck Vines, Conner Vines and Zoey Vines.

Services will be at noon Friday, March 8, 2019, at Riles Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Dore of St. Michael Catholic Church officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Allen Pugh, Trey Griffin, Aubrey Mays, Ed Mullen, Jarred Gleese and Kurt Vines. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Embry, Mike Davis, Tommy Day, Don Hollowell, Lee Brown, Gary Dykes, Dominic Cocilova, Dr. Michael Bailey, Dr. Steve Krapac, Carl Brown, Gary Dykes, Dr. Paul Pierce IV, Dr. Paul Pierce III, and the staff of Medical Associates Clinic.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church, 100 St. Michael Place, Vicksburg, MS 39180 or to Vicksburg Catholic Schools, 1900 Grove Street, Vicksburg, MS 39183.
