Georgia Lee Johns Kemp

Georgia Lee Johns Kemp, formerly of Vicksburg, entered into eternal rest on March 8, 2019, in Slidell, Louisiana. She was born to the late Booker T. Johns and Fannie Bishop. She was married to the late Simon Kemp. Her sister, Lucille Martin, and daughter, Beulah K. Haynes, also preceded her in death. Georgia was active in the Kings community before moving to Slidell. Georgia loved the Lord, her family, cooking and flowers.

She was a member of Cool Springs M. B. Church. In 2004, she was awarded the Longest Membership. In 2006, she moved to Slidell and joined Starlight M. B. Church under watch care. She kept Psalms 23 on her lips until the very end.

Those left to celebrate her legacy are her daughter, Kimberly (Argusta) McDuffey of Slidell; grandsons Anthony (Leslie) Haynes and Ron Haynes of Bay Point, California; stepson, Willie (Violet) Youngblood of New Orleans; great-grandsons Christian McDuffey and Jared McDuffey; God-children, nieces and nephews, the Henderson, Williams, Kemp, Savage families and other relatives and friends.

Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Cool Springs M. B. Church; 385 Falk Steel Rd., Vicksburg.
