Alma McCoy Russell

Services for Alma McCoy Russell, 90, of Natchez, who died Sunday, March 17, 2019, at her residence, will be noon Saturday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Burks, of Utica, officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Russell was born Aug. 4, 1928, in Learned, the first child of Earl and Florence Burks Allen.

She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for 68 years and an educator in the Natchez school system for 38 years.

She loved her church, family and community.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Angus McCoy and the Rev. Henry Russell; her parents; one brother, Donald Allen; two children, Henry Russell III and Carrie Terrell; and son-in-law, Addis C. West.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia McCoy West and J. Diane McCoy Booth and husband, William Robinson; 14 grandchildren, Albert Terrell Jr. and wife, LaWanda, Henry Russell IV and wife, Brenda, Dennis Davis and wife, Phyllis, Lavonne Floyd and husband, Larry, Gregory Terrell and wife, Crystal, Ifetayo West, Kunta West and wife, Frankeisha, Akeem West, Jamal Robinson, J’Aaliyah West-Campbell, Kameron West, Kaiden West, Kyra West and Darian Shaw; daughter-in-law, Louise Russell; two sisters, Anita Allen Jackson and Esther Camille; two special sons, Ricky Gray and Herman Wade; and a number of other relatives and friends.
