Woman gets probation for assault on police officer

A Warren County woman received a suspended sentence and was placed on supervised probation after pleading guilty in 9th District Circuit Court to aggravated simple assault on a police officer.

Circuit Judge M. James Chaney suspended the five-year sentence for Rachael Redditt, 37, no address listed, on the condition that she is committed to an inpatient long-term drug rehabilitation program for 12 months or longer as recommended by the Louisiana Adult and Teen Challenge-Minden Family Center in Minden, Louisiana.

She will be placed on five years’ supervised probation when she completes the program. She was ordered to pay $584.50 in fines, fees and court costs.

In other cases:

• Vandairrick Spears, 23, was sentenced to two years in prison and placed on one-year post release supervision after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine. He was also ordered to pay $1,584.50 in fines, fees court costs and restitution.

• Christopher Sabin Reaves, 28, received a five-year suspended sentence and placed on five years’ post-release supervision after pleading guilty to grand larceny. He was also ordered to pay $1,584.50 in fines, fees, and court costs.

• Dalton Hynum, 22, was sentenced to 10 years in prison with four years to serve and placed on five years’ post-release supervision. He was ordered to pay $1,584.50 on fines, fees, court costs and restitution. He also received credit for time served.

• Bershard Devaun Brooks, 20, was placed on 60 months’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to non-residential burglary, not larceny. He was ordered to pay $1,584.50 in fines, fees and court costs. He also received probation after pleading guilty to possession of a counterfeit instrument in a different case.

  Jermon Alinzo Walker, 20, was placed on 60 months’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to vehicle burglary. He was also ordered to pay $1,584.50 in fines, fees and court costs.

• Courtney Dewayne Anderson, 38, was placed on 60 months’ probation after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property. He was also ordered to pay $2,062.50 in fines, fees, court costs and restitution to the victims.

• Johnie Ruth White, 58, received a suspended five-year sentence and placed on five years’ supervised probation after pleading guilty to false pretense. She was also ordered to pay $2,710.62 in fines, fees, court costs and restitution.

• David Lewis Brown, 33, receive a suspended five-year sentence and placed on five-years post-release supervision after pleading to receiving stolen property. He was also ordered to pay $2,917.83 in fines, fees, court costs and restitution to the victim.
