Authorities say nearly $99,000 of cash have been seized from a New York man arrested in Mississippi after a high-speed chase.

News outlets report that deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Mississippi arrested 26-year-old Michael Nave Vega. The New York City resident is charged with felony fleeing, disorderly conduct and several traffic violations.

WDAM-TV quotes Sheriff Berkley Hall as saying the chase on Thursday had started after callers reported a reckless driver speeding and ignoring stop lights. He says Vega jumped out of the vehicle and ran away but was apprehended shortly after.
