Booth spaces are almost sold out for the April 13 Old Court House Museum Flea Market, organizers said.
“We already have 100 booths signed up,” museum director and curator Bubba Bolm said. “We have 18 food booths. We have churches involved, the Boy Scouts involved, all raising money for their organizations. We’ve got another 10 spots available.”
The flea market will go from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the streets surrounding the museum. “We have a new group of vendors; more than we have ever had before as far as being from out of town,” Bolm said.
“This will be their first year; they’ve never been here before. There’s going to be ironwork and woodwork, and food-wise, we’re going to have cracklings. We’ve never had that before.
“We’re looking forward to a beautiful day and we’re sitting on go. It’s going to be a good day, we just need the people of Vicksburg to come and support them.”
The flea market has taken place annually for 37 years. The main market is held in October, and the spring market was brought back in April several years ago.
At one time the spring market was held in conjunction with Riverfest, but started being held at a different date in April separate from Riverfest. The April market was cancelled in 2017 because of rain.
More than 3,000 people attended the October flea market.
