The Warren County grand jury has handed down separate and unrelated indictments against a Vicksburg man charging him with murder in one and attempted aggravated assault-extreme indifference in the other.

The first indictment charges James Robert Reynolds, 31, 1501 Military Ave., with murder in the Jan. 20, 2018, shooting death of Eddie Burns, whose body was found Jan. 21 in a grassy area between railroad tracks and Bonelli Street. Reynolds was arrested Jan. 24 and charged in the death.

Reynolds is accused of shooting Burns in the head and taking $5 and a pair of Nike athletic shoes from him.

The second indictment charges Reynolds with one count of attempted aggravated assault-extreme indifference and one count of possession of a weapon after felony conviction.

Reynolds is accused in the indictment of shooting at an occupied car Jan. 19, 2018, while the car was at the Top Five Store, 1108 Bowmar Ave. In both indictments, Reynolds is charged as a habitual offender because he has two prior felony convictions.

In another case, Tony D. Smoots, 20, 502 Farmer’s St., was indicted on a charge of aggravated assault-extreme indifference in a June 2, 2018, shooting that occurred at the K&B Lounge off U.S. 80.

Smoots is accused of wounding one person during the shooting. He was arrested with two other people after they drove up the bar and witnesses identified the car to sheriff’s deputies as the one used in the shooting. Deputies later found two semiautomatic handguns in the car. Other indictments include:

•  Anthony Dwayne Hall, 42, 609 Rigby St.; sex offender-failure to notify of address change.

• Gabriel Frazier, 24, 5143 Gertrude Drive, Jackson; vehicle burglary.

• George Patterson, 30, 1306 East Magnolia St.; non-residential burglary.

• Markiss Dion Anderson, 22, 85 Buck Drive; Trayvon Quitez Barnett, 18, 55 Whipperwill Road; and Jessica Renee Bell, 19, 902 Blossom Lane Apt. A8; receiving stolen property.

• Victoria Michelle Tilley, 34, 4813 Nailor Road; possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

• Elizabeth Somerville, 38, 929 Clubhouse Circle, possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine.

• Michael Cannon, 37, 4770 Oak Ridge Road; embezzlement.

• Hunter Alexander Burton, 24, 3749 Gowall Road; Brandon Dax Freeman, 171 Freeman Lane; and Sean Henley, no age or address listed; grand larceny.

• Kalani Lashon Hall, 20, 1405 Lake Hill Drive, and Kelvin Andrew Jackson, 19, 111 Starlight Drive; conspiracy to commit a felony and attempted non-residential burglary.

• Courtney Logan Boone, 35, 2663 Canada Cross, Edwards, fleeing or eluding a law enforcement officer.

• Samuel Roby, 46, 96 Irene St.; fourth-offense DUI.

• Jay Dewayne Murrah, 42, 2000 Davis Road, and Jason Dee Larson, 46,420 Venable Lane; malicious mischief.
