Funeral services for Henry Earl Middleton will be noon Saturday, April 13, at Mount Pilgrim M. B. Church with the Rev. Louis A. Hall officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mr. Middleton passed away Thursday, April 4, at G. V. “Sonny” Montgomery VA Medical Center following  a lengthy illness.

He was 87.

He was retired from the U.S. Army Reserve, the Vicksburg Warren School System and Hinds Community College Vo Tech.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea and Vietnam, and was a member of the Mount Pilgrim M. B. Church.

He was a 1950 graduate of Bowman High School, 1954 graduate of Alcorn A & M College, continued studies at Mississippi State University, and the U S Army NCO School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Middleton and Blanche Ella Sims; his son, Marlowe E. Middleton; his brothers, William Brickel, James L. Middleton, and Eddie Middleton; his sisters, Mary Louise Miller, Rosie L. Durman and Lillie B Johnson; maternal grandparents, William Walter Sims and Lillie Corbin; paternal grandparents, Ed Middleton and Indiana Lindsey.

He is survived by his wife, Janie Coleman Middleton of Vicksburg; his daughter, Jeanette L. M. Key of Owings Mills, Maryland; and four grandchildren.
