Buford Estate roads are deplorable

Dear Editor,

I reside in Warren County just outside the city limits of Vicksburg, and for the past 20 years the access roads leading in and out of Buford Estates, the owner Pete Buford, has maintained this area.

In the two months there has been no upkeep of any kind done to the road I live on or any of the other roads in this area, which are Red Oak Drive, Impala Drive or Hackberry Road. The potholes on the end of Buford Drive leading out to 61 Highway are deplorable, as well there is a huge break in a culvert at the foot of Red Oak Drive leading into Buford Drive.

I’ve reached out to Mr. Buford’s office about this issue on more than one occasion with nothing being handled. Seems to me if someone owns something it’s there responsibility to maintain it.

Mr. Buford has told me in past we own part of the road in front of our property. But, the issue I have is not on property we own, it is his part leading out to the main highway.

The conditions of the road have gotten to the point where my van shakes up and down every time I try to leave out to get on highway.
