James Clarence “J.C.” Pittman

James Clarence “J.C.” Pittman passed Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in Vicksburg. He was 76.

J.C. was born March 28, 1943, in Cleveland to the late Clarence Eli Pittman and the late Mary Lee Weeks Pittman.

He was graduated in 1962 from Cleveland High School, where he was active in all sports. J.C. moved to Vicksburg in 1979 and retired from Mid South Lumber

Company after 24 years of service.

He was a member of the Vicksburg Paddle wheelers and spent many hours doing volunteer work. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling with his wife. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Wayne Pittman, a sister, Ethel Lee Powers, and a brother, Wayne Pittman.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Pittman; two sons, James Pittman and Keith Pittman, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Stacey Gugert of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Sondra Wooten of Vicksburg; a sister, Mary Lois Cruse; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Monk officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland.

Pallbearers will be Trey Pittman, Joseph Pittman, Brandon Pittman, Justin Pittman, Cole Pittman, Ryan Lewis, and James Gugert.
