Kathi Suzanne Keen Statham

Armory – Kathi Suzanne Keen Statham, 63, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo.

Kathi was born in Vicksburg, to Dudley Leon Keen and Ura LaJune Wilson Keen on April 23, 1956.

She grew up in the Redwood community with her brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many extended family members. She attended Redwood Elementary School, Warren Central High School, Hinds Junior College, and was a graduate of Belhaven College with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.

She also graduated from Jackson State University with a Masters in Education Administration. She taught school in Byram, Vicksburg, and at Amory Elementary prior to her retirement.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Amory. She was also a past president of the Amory Humane Society.

She is survived by her brothers, Frank Keen of Redwood, Tony Keen of Clarksville, Tenn., and Rev. Rusty Keen (Fawn) of Greenwood; nieces and nephews, Danielle Keen Worley (whom she raised as a daughter), Michelle Keller, Kimberly Caruthers, Steven Keen Hyland, Suzanna Keen Hyland, Wilson Keen Hyland, Madison Keen, Stephanie Vanderford, Ben Franklin and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Statham was predeceased by her parents, her husband Otis Statham, Sr., her brother Dudley L. Keen, Jr. (Bo), and her nephew Frank Wilson Keen, Jr.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Amory First United Methodist Church, Amory with Rev. Wesley Pepper and Rev. Rusty Keen officiating.

Burial will follow on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
