Funeral services for Viola Dixon will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, at Zion Traveler’s M. B. Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wilbert Doss officiating. Interment shall follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Ms. Dixon passed away Thursday, June 6, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 86. She has worked in the Heritage House Nursing Home and was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Dorothy Willis Jenkins; and her daughter, Claudia Jenkins.

She is survived by her three sons, James Dixon, Willie Ray Dixon Sr. and Ollie Dean Dixon Sr., all of Vicksburg; her daughter, Frances Shambray of Florida; her two brothers, James Jenkins of Rolling Fork and LC Jenkins of Vicksburg; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
