A Vicksburg man faces multiple charges after his arrest Thursday during a traffic stop at the Admiral Apartments, 1200 Mission 66.
Lance Maniel, 35, 310 Wisconsin Ave., is accused of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of methamphetamine after the drug was found during the traffic stop, which occurred about 2:48 p.m.
In another case, a traffic stop on Indiana Avenue near Lee Road resulted in the arrest of a man on charges of possession of marijuana with intent.
Marcus Wilson, 29, of Vicksburg is being held without bond in the Warren County Jail. He has a hold placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for parole violation involving an earlier charge.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said deputy Dustin Keys stopped a GMC Sierra pickup about 3:40 p.m. As he approached the truck, Keys smelled the odor of marijuana.
During a search of the truck after Wilson’s arrest, Keys found scales, small plastic bags, marijuana, ammunition for a .40-caliber handgun and body armor. No gun was recovered. Another small bag of marijuana was found on Wilson during a search while he was being booked into jail.
