Funeral services for Alberta R. Washington will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the House of Peace Worship Center. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m.

Ms. Washington passed away Saturday, June 29, at her home following a sudden illness. She was 51.

She had worked as a security guard at Merit Health River Region Medical Center, served in the U.S. Navy, and had been a member of Stanfield M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Washington, Sr.

She is survived by her fiancé, Lynn Atkinson of Vicksburg; her son, Kerrian Devon Washington of Vicksburg; her mother, Althea Moffett of Vicksburg; her three brothers, Matthew Washington Jr., Darrell Allen, Rodney Allen and Justin Harris, all of Vicksburg; her three sisters, Jamita Washington, Lisa Tyler and Omekia Washington, all of Vicksburg.
