Charles Leon Horne was called to his eternal rest in Sea Side, Calif., on June 29, 2019. He was 92 years old.

Mr. Horne was a graduate of Bowman High School and served in the U.S. Army for 25 years. After retirement, he was a deputy sheriff for 15 years for Monterey County.

He was born March 26, 1927, in Vicksburg to Jabus and Merinda Horne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; his wife, Elizabeth Straughter Horne; and two sons, Michael V. Horne and Carl Leon Horne.

Mr. Horne is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Horne Bradford of Vicksburg, Dr. Michelle Horne and Mrs. Pamela E. Cooper of Sea Side, Calif.; and numerous relatives in Vicksburg, including the Horne, Coleman, and Phillips families.    

A Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date.
