Annual ERDC Under the Lights coming soon

By day, the employees at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center are solving some of the nation’s toughest military and civil engineering problems. But next week, by night, they are spreading a little holiday cheer with the local community.
For the third year in a row, ERDC will open its gates to show off Christmas lights and displays at each of the four laboratories and surrounding buildings on station. Admission for the event is one non-perishable food item that will be donated to a local food bank.
“So many people drive by our gates every day, and they don’t really know what they’re passing by,” said Sara Robinson, chief of protocol, visitors and events at ERDC. “ERDC Under the Lights is a way for us to celebrate the Christmas season with our community and allow them a chance to see what’s behind the gate.”
The event will be held Dec. 13 and 14 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Those attending should enter at the Information Technology Laboratory Gate, 1165 Porters Chapel Road.
