Chill in the Hills 10K
The 12th annual Chill in the Hills 10K, a run and race walk through downtown Vicksburg, is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11 at 8:30 a.m.
The race will begin and end at Martin’s at Midtown, 1101 Belmont St., and wind through the historic downtown area. Registration is available online at gracechristiancounselingcenter.com/fundraiser/3305792. Race day registration will begin at 7 a.m. on Jan. 11 at Martin’s at Midtown, and will also be open there on Jan. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The registration fee is $40 for the 10K run and 5K race walk. The children’s 1-mile fun run is free. A team rate of $150 is available for up to five people. The Chill in the Hills is the first Mississippi Track Club Grand Prix race of the 2020 season.

Kings center hoops
The Kings Empowerment Center will host a 5-on-5 intramural basketball league for children in grades 4-12 this winter. Registration is open until Jan. 24, and games will be played each Saturday from Feb. 2 to April 11.
The fee is $150 per team for church, mentor and community groups. Forms are available at the Kings Empowerment Center, 224 R.L. Chase Circle. Rosters are due by Jan. 24.

Bowling meeting
The organizational meeting for the Fun Lanes Seniors Spring Bowling League will be Thursday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Fun Lanes in The Vicksburg Mall. This league is open to all bowlers 50 years of age and older. For more information, contact Jackie Strange at 601-636-1262 or 601-529-3318.
Cornhole tournament
The City of Vicksburg’s Parks and Recreation Department will hold the inaugural Top Gun Cornhole Tournament Jan. 24-25 at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
Registration will continue through Jan. 17. The cost is $50 per two-person team, and the double-elimination tournament is open to adults ages 18 and up. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Ole Miss coaches clinic
Ole Miss baseball will host its first-ever Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Swayze Field and the Baseball Performance Center on the Oxford campus.
College, high school and travel ball coaches are welcome to a behind-the-scenes look at the Rebel baseball program as part of a half-day of comprehensive instruction by head coach Mike Bianco and his staff.
The registration fee for is $15 and includes the clinic, a Nike Ole Miss baseball long-sleeved T-shirt, and two tickets to the Ole Miss men’s basketball home game against Arkansas at 5 p.m. on Jan. 11. Online registration will continue at OleMissBaseballCamps.com until Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. No walk-up registration will be available.
VWAA baseball registration
The Vicksburg Warren Athletic Association has opened registration for its 2020 spring youth baseball season. All games will be played at Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi. Online registration is available at vwaabaseball.org. The registration fee is $75 per player, but coaches are eligible for a $25 discount for their child.
