Crime reports: Police respond to a call for stolen truck

A truck that was reportedly left unlocked with the keys in the cupholder was reported stolen Thursday.

At around noon Thursday, officers were dispatched to the area of Main and Locust Street for an auto theft.

The victim reported that his red 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen while parked in this location. Reports indicate the vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in the cupholder.

In other reports:

• At 3:15 p.m. Thursday officers responded to the 1000 block of Monroe streets for a report of one shot being fired. When officers arrived in the area, they found no evidence of suspicious activity.

• Thursday, at 5:14 p.m., officers responded to the area of Letitia and Speed streets for a call for service regarding several shots having been fired in the area. No evidence of shots being fired was found.

• At 10:38 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to an address in the 1800 block of Cherry Street for a report of an auto burglary.  The victim reported someone entered his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado through an unlocked door and took two packs of cigarettes.
