Vicksburg officers take Texas robbery suspect into custody

An individual wanted in Texas in connection to two counts of aggravated robbery turned himself into officers with the Vicksburg Police Department Wednesday.

Brandin Laquan Jackson, 26, of 1211 Jackson Avenue, Yazoo City, was taken into custody at the Vicksburg Police Department. 

Jackson is wanted by the U.S. Marshal’s Service on two counts of aggravated robbery from Tarrant County, Texas. Jackson will be housed in the Madison County Jail until extradition to Texas is arranged.

• Just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to Precious Moments Learning Center, 1411 Cherry St., for an auto burglary in progress. The suspect, a juvenile, was chased by officers on foot for several minutes before being taken into custody.  He was transported to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

• Friday, at 1:06 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Hutson Street in reference to a theft. The complainant reported someone stole his 2012 Polaris Sportsman XP ATV.

• Friday, at 4:46 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Skyview Lane in reference to a theft. The victim stated someone stole two female Blue Pit Bulldogs from his yard.

• Friday, at 7:57 p.m., officers responded to Merit Health River Region in reference to a shooting that is reported to have occurred in the area of Cherry and China streets. The victim reported someone shot him in the left foot.

• Saturday at 3:58 p.m., officers, responded to the 400 block of Lake Hill Drive in reference to a burglary. The resident stated someone broke into her home and stole a 40-inch flat-screen television, a 65-inch flat-screen television and a Roku television.

• Monday, at 10:59 a.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle in reference to an auto burglary. The victim reported someone entered her 2005 Buick Terraza and stole $740. There was no evidence of forced entry to the vehicle.

• Monday, at 6:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of Military Avenue and Togo Street in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found no signs of suspicious activity, or evidence of shots fired.

• Tuesday, at 1:42 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Redbone Road in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found no signs of suspicious activity, or evidence of shots fired.

• Tuesday, at 3:20 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at Taco Bell, 3416 Pemberton Square Boulevard. The victim stated an unknown black male pointed a gun at him and demanded his property.

• Tuesday, at 9:45 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1500 block of Vicklan Street in reference to an auto burglary. The victim stated someone stole a pair of booster cables and five CDs from a 2008 Dodge Charger. The vehicle had been left unlocked.

• Tuesday, at 11:06 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Avenue D in reference to an auto burglary. The victim stated that someone entered a 2019 Ford Edge and stole $5 in change.

• Tuesday, at 4:15 p.m., officers responded to Azalea Lane in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found no signs of suspicious activity, or evidence of shots fired.
