WC golf tournament
The 2020 Viking Golf 4-Man Scramble, a golf tournament to benefit the Warren Central golf team, is scheduled for March 21 at Vicksburg Country Club. The tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m.
The entry fee is $100 per person, or $400 per four-person team, and includes lunch and one mulligan per player. There are prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. Overall prizes for first through third places will be awarded as well.

Lifeguard class
The Vicksburg YMCA will hold an American Red Cross lifeguard certification class March 30 through April 10 at the Purks YMCA pool.
Those taking the class must be 15 years of age or older before April 10, 2020, and pass an endurance test on the first day.
The cost of the class is $125 for YMCA members and $175 for non-members. Completion of the class and Red Cross certification is required to hold a lifeguard job at City Pool.

Game officials needed
The City of Vicksburg’s Parks and Recreation Department is looking for umpires and referees for its youth baseball, softball and basketball leagues. Applications are available at the Parks and Rec office at 100 Army Navy Drive. For more information, call Joseph Graves at 601-831-8050.
Hinds football tryouts
Hinds Community College has scheduled its football tryouts for Wednesday, March 18, at 1 p.m. at Joe Renfroe Stadium on the Raymond campus. Registration will begin at noon at Mayo Athletic Field House. All players must have a current physical, shorts, a T-shirt and cleats. The cost of the tryout is $20. USM baseball camps
The Southern Miss baseball program will host a pair of spring break camps the next two weeks at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The camp dates are March 12-13 (Camp 1) and March 16-17 (Camp 2). The cost is $100 and includes a T-shirt. The camps run from 9 a.m.-noon each day for kids ages 6-13.
The camps will cover the fundamentals of baseball and a game will be played at the end of each day. Instruction will be provided by the Southern Miss coaching staff.
In addition, each camper will be given a ticket for a Golden Eagle baseball game. Camp 1 is the March 13 contest against Florida International, and Camp 2 is the March 27 game vs. Middle Tennessee. They also will have the opportunity to wear their camp T-shirt and take the field for the national anthem with their favorite Golden Eagle player.
