Evan Mallard, a student at St. Francis Elementary, finished second overall in the Run Thru History 1-mile run on Saturday. Later that day, he was named MVP of the Magnolia State Super NIT USSSA baseball tournament in Flowood after leading his team, the Mississippi Revolution, to the championship.
