State COVID-19 numbers spike, Warren County numbers increase slightly

Moments before Gov. Tate Reeves announced steps that would allow restaurants and outdoor recreation facilities to reopen Thursday, the Mississippi State Department of Health announced 327 new cases of COVID-19 in the state.
In the report, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in Warren County increased slightly to 83 overall. That is an increase of two cases from Sunday’s report.
State officials also announced seven new virus-related deaths in the state. The number of virus-related in Warren County remains at two.
The number of cases in Claiborne County increased to 30 overnight, while the number in Sharkey County remained at five.
Issaquena County remains the only county in the state to not yet report a positive case.
