Number of active COVID-19 cases falling in Warren County

Even as Warren County announces new cases of the COVID-19 virus, the number of active cases has declined.
Tuesday, the Mississippi State Department of Health announced four new cases in Warren County, bringing the number of cases reported during the pandemic to 158. But, using guidelines from the health department, the number of active cases is estimated to be at just 29.
In using those guidelines, the number of active cases has fallen over the past week, moving from 46 on May 19 to Tuesday’s level of 29.
Statewide, the number of confirmed cases during the pandemic grew by 273 overnight, reaching 13,731. The state also announced 17 additional deaths due to the virus.
As of Monday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reported during the pandemic in neighboring Madison Parish was 69.
