Positive trend continues for Warren County in regards to COVID-19 virus

The Mississippi State Department of Health Wednesday announced 313 new cases of COVID-19 in the state and 18 additional virus-related deaths. But, none of those new cases, or deaths, were reported in Warren County.

In addition to not reporting any new cases Wednesday, the number of estimated active cases fell even further, moving to 29.

The news was not as good for Claiborne County, which Wednesday reported 64 cases reported thus far during the pandemic and two virus-related deaths.

Sharkey County remained at seven total cases, while Yazoo County’s number of cases moved to 223. Yazoo County also is reporting three virus-related deaths.

Issaquena County remains the only county in Mississippi to not yet report a positive case.

Overall, the number of confirmed cases reported in the state during the pandemic reached 14,044 with the new cases, while the number of deaths connected to the virus reached 670.
