Daisye F. Keeton

Mrs. Daisye F. Keeton, 101, of Richmond, Ky., passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020, at Telford Terrace, in Richmond, Ky.

Daisye was born on August 23, 1918, in Vicksburg, to Frances (Schnell) and Rhea Fuller Sr. She was educated in Vicksburg, graduating from All Saints Women’s College. After graduation, she went on to work at various banks and law offices until moving to Mobile, Ala. While living there, she was Secretary to the Dean of Students at the University of South Alabama until her retirement.  She remained in Mobile, until moving to Richmond in 2005.

She was a member of The Methodist Church all of her life. Among her hobbies, she enjoyed her family, reading and cooking southern food…including fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, black-eyed peas, butterbeans, dewberry cobbler, ham and sweet potatoes, biscuits and cornbread …. and of course Southern sweet tea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Keeton Sr.; her infant son, James Frederick Keeton; her sisters, Frances (Nick) Love and Wilhelmina Porter; her brothers, Rhea Jr. (Mary) Fuller, Bill (Ann) Fuller and Leonard (JoAnn) Fuller.

She is survived by one son, James L. “Jimmy” Keeton and his wife, Sue of Richmond; three grandchildren, Monica (Jay) Marrs, Charlene (Larry) Klein and James Ray (Ellen) Keeton; seven great-grandchildren, Kaelin and Colton Klein, Aiden and Graham Marrs, Lily Kate, Reece and Josie Keeton all of Richmond; as well as several nephews and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Telford Terrace for their loving care, comfort and support.

A private family service will be held.

The Combs, Parsons and Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
