Sunday’s report by the Mississippi State Department of Health showed the fewest number of new COVID-19 cases reported statewide in weeks, as just 381 new cases were reported.

But, reports on the weekend, and often on Mondays, have proven to be historically lower as testing results are slow to be reported over the weekend. That said, Sunday’s report was also positive in that it reported just four virus-related deaths across the state.

As for Warren County, six new COVID-19 cases were reported, pushing the 14-day total of new cases to 215. It also pushed the ratio of new cases per 100,000 residents in the county to 441. Both figures are slightly higher than Saturday’s report.
