Crime reports: Suspect arrested for shooting into an occupied vehicle

A Vicksburg man is charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle following a shooting Saturday afternoon near Cedars School Circle.
At 4:33 p.m., officers responded to the area of Cedars School Circle, near Warrenton Lane, in reference to a shooting where the victim reported Xavier Allen fired shots at him, causing damage to his 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis.
Officers later stopped Allen’s vehicle and observed a rifle on the front passenger seat and a spent shell casing on the back seat of the vehicle. Allen was arrested for shooting into an occupied vehicle.
During his initial court appearance Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court, Judge Penny Lawson placed a $20,000 bond on Allen and bound his case over to the grand jury.

• On Saturday, at 10:41 a.m., officers responded to the Carr Central Apartments, 1805 Cherry Street, in reference to an auto burglary. The victim stated someone broke into her car and stole her wallet with $200.00.
• On Saturday, at 4:33 p.m., officers responded to an address in the 1500 block of Baum Street in reference to a theft. The homeowner reported someone broke into the residence taking two televisions, two laptop computers, a surround sound speaker, purses, shoes and $3,500 cash.
• On Saturday, at 11 p.m., officers responded to the Carr Central Apt, 1805 Cherry St., in reference to an auto burglary. The victim reported someone broke into her 2018 Nissan Versa and stole a Dooney & Bourke purse and a pair of Air Jordan shoes.
