Dolly (Nettie) Martin Moses

Dolly (Nettie) Martin Moses died peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020. She was 94.

Dolly was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She was the daughter of the late Harry “Happy” Martin and Nettie Harris Martin. She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She retired from the State of Mississippi Employment Security Commission. She also, along with her husband, Albert owned and operated Jitney Jungle No. 5 on Halls Ferry Road.

In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Albert Moses; a brother, Harry Martin; and a sister, Doris Martin.

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Hood of Vicksburg; two sisters-in-law, Sherrell Willis of Vicksburg and Ann Moses Sudeiha of Mobile, Ala.; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID 19, a memorial service will be held at a later date. A Special thanks to her caregivers, Matilda Stewart, Paula Knight, Nadine Carter, and Maxine Demby, Kindred Home Health, and St. Joseph Hospice.
