Teen killed in early Monday morning shooting

Deputies with Warren County Sheriff’s Office are seeking information in the early Monday morning shooting death of an 18-year-old on Abraham Drive.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey identified the teen as Ethan Powell.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said 911 dispatchers received a call just after midnight Monday that shots were fired in the 100 block of Abraham Drive and someone might have been hit.

Deputies arriving at the scene found Powell lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Merit Health River Region where he was pronounced dead by doctors in the hospital emergency room about 1:08 a.m.

An autopsy has been ordered.

Pace said the shooting remains under investigation.

“We have worked through the night on this case and we are working on some promising leads, but we have made no arrests at this time,” Pace said.
