Glenda Kelly

Glenda Kelly passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020. She was 80.

Glenda was a member of Highland Baptist Church where she took care of the youth, loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed rocking babies in the nursery. She was vice president of Nick’s Auto Parts for 44 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Kelly; her parents, Leroy and Helen Chambliss; her son, James Scott Kelly;  and her brother, Kenneth Chambliss.

She is survived by her son, Alan “Smokey” Kelly (Ginger); her four sisters, Sandra Wilson (Jim), Artiv Anderson, Frances Chambliss and Leona Clifton (Preston); her three grandchildren, Ashley Tankesly, Ryan Kelly and J.R. Reaves; and her great-grandchild, Cullen Tankesly.

A visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at 9 a.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Rev. Brian Ivey will be officiating the service.

Active Pallbearers will include David Pugh, Chuck Byrd, Shane Rowland, J.R. Reaves, Steve Rundell and Ken Pecanty. Honorary Pallbearers will include Keith Gordon, Mickey Simmons, Johnny Price and Bill Hanks.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Vicksburg Convalescent Home, all their staff and sweet nurses for doing such a great job taking care of their loved one, also a thank you to St. Joseph Hospice for all their heartfelt care.
