Jean Elizabeth Cantrell

Jean Elizabeth Cantrell passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tallulah, La. She was 88 years old.

Jean was born March 15, 1932, in Little Rock, Ark. She was the treasured only child of Louis and Enice Webber. She grew up in Osceola, Ark., and graduated from Osceola High School in 1950.

On June 24, 1952, she married Ollie Cantrell Jr. They shared 62 wonderful years together and were the very proud parents of two daughters, Sherry Lynn and Dana Kay.

Jean loved to visit with people. She never met a stranger. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining. No one ever left her home hungry.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lynn Harris and husband, Timmy, and Dana Kay Smith and husband, Jason. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rheagan, Carlyle, and Kendall Smith and Brooke Ann and Preston Harris.

A private graveside service was held Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, with Fred Fulton officiating under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the love and excellent care they provided during the last four years of Jean’s life and to Crossroads Hospice and Dr. Corey Allbritton for providing peace and comfort during her last days.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to First United Methodist Church in Tallulah, La., Immanuel Baptist Church in Vicksburg, or the charity of your choice.
