Crime report: Passenger strikes driver repeatedly with handgun

What started out as a good deed turned into an armed robbery early Tuesday.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, a victim entered the police station on Veto Street just before 3:30 a.m. reporting he had been robbed.

The victim reported he had given a black male subject, who he knew, a ride from the Kings community. When they arrived at an address on Speed Street the suspect pulled out a revolver and struck the victim several times on his head with it, causing minor injuries.

The suspect then stole the victim’s Glock handgun and fled on foot. The revolver was left behind.
