Researchers with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory will conduct a series of tests resulting in audible blasts at the Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg between 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday in an area just southeast of Wisconsin Avenue and Porters Chapel Road.

During the one-hour periods on both days, researchers will use a propane cannon for acoustic signal characterization testing. There will be eight to 10 blasts without any projectiles being fired.
