VWSD cancels classes

Classes at Vicksburg Warren School District schools have been cancelled because of a change in the weather forecast.

After elementary school buses were enroute, the VWSD received a call from Warren County Emergency Management Director John Elfer that the severity of the weather had increased and the timing of its arrival had changed, VWSD director of communications Christi Kilroy said.

At that point, the district was advised to dismiss school early, Kilroy said, and school officials made the decision not to run the high school and junior high school bus routes. Elementary students who arrived at school will be dismissed at 10 a.m. Breakfast and a sack lunch will be provided to the students.

I have felt privileged to be part of a dedicated team at The Post throughout my tenure and hope that with theirs and with local support, I will be able to continue to grow and hone in on my skills as I help share the stories in Vicksburg. When asked what I like most about my job, my answer is always ‘the people.’
