Downtown merchants will throw open their doors Sunday to continue what has become a 27-year tradition of the Old Fashion Christmas Open House.

“Open House will be Sunday from 1:30 to 5 p.m.  and the first 100 shoppers spending $25 will get a poinsettia; it’s a great day to come kickoff your holiday shopping,” said Main Street Vicksburg Executive Director Kim Hopkins.

She said Santa Claus will be at Crawford Square from 1:30 to 3 p.m. for photographs.

“We’ll also have the trolley running to take people back and forth to their cars or for people who just want to ride the trolley,” Hopkins said. “We’re looking forward to seeing everyone. It’s kind of like a reunion; everybody gets together for Thanksgiving and then the families come downtown on Sunday to enjoy downtown.”
