The 120th edition of the Egg Bowl, the annual football rivalry game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State, was played on Thanksgiving night at Davis Wade Stadium in Oxford.

Quinshon Judkins rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, and No. 12 Ole Miss beat the Bulldogs 17-7 to improve their all-time record in the series to 65-46-6. The Rebels won for the third time in four years, and regained the Golden Egg trophy after losing it last season.

Here is a selection of game photos from Vicksburg Post photographer Walter Frazier.

Ole Miss won 10 regular-season games for the second time in three years, and will now wait to see if it has earned a bid to a major New Year’s Six bowl game.

Mississippi State finished with a 5-7 record in a tumultuous season that included the firing of head coach Zach Arnett just 10 games into his tenure. Longtime assistant Greg Knox coached the Bulldogs in their last two games. The Bulldogs have been to a bowl game in 13 consecutive seasons, but will need help to make it 14. They could still get a bowl bid if there are not enough teams with at least six wins to fill all 82 slots in the lineup of 41 bowl games.

Entering the final weekend of the regular season there were 68 bowl-eligible teams, 20 more who could reach the six-win threshold with a victory, and 16 spots remaining. If there are less than 84 teams with six wins, Mississippi State could still be ruled eligible under NCAA guidelines that reward teams with a high Academic Progress Rate.
