Gators beat Choctaw Central, run winning streak to six

The Vicksburg Gators returned from their Thanksgiving feasts and continued to fatten up their win total.

Davian Williams nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter, and four other players finished in double figures as the Gators defeated Choctaw Central 68-66 on Saturday for their sixth consecutive boys basketball victory.

Jaylin Jackson finished with 14 points for Vicksburg (6-1), which has won all of its games since losing its season opener against Germantown.

Tyler Henderson scored 11 points, while Kealon Bass and Kameryn Bailey finished with 10 each. Lazaveon Sylvester also scored eight.

Zyler Clemons led Choctaw Central (4-2) with a game-high 25 points and Koie Williams scored 11.

Vicksburg will be back in action Tuesday night when it hosts Northwest Rankin. The girls-boys doubleheader begins at 6 p.m.
